Visites and coastal protections

As part of the mission, several field visits were organized in order to assess the progress of local initiatives and to prepare the next stages of the technical studies. The first visit was carried out in collaboration with the Mirontsi Municipality (Anjouan) on the sites concerned with coastal protection. This meeting made it possible to observe the main issues related to erosion and coastal risks, as well as to collect the observations and recommendations of the local authorities. A second visit took place in the municipality of Mutsamudu, specifically in the areas identified for drainage studies. The objective was to better understand the existing technical constraints, particularly regarding rainwater runoff, and to assess the priority needs for strengthening urban resilience against flooding. Finally, a visit was conducted to the site of the General Directorate of Civil Security (DGSC) in the region of Sima (Anjouan). The purpose of this visit was to prepare the technical studies related to the construction of the local unit of civil protection. This step made it possible to examine the proposed site, verify its compliance with the identified needs, and consider the practical modalities for the implementation of the project.
